Hopfgarten im Brixental

ImageThis small, traditional village lies at the foot of the Hohe Salve mountain. It has narrow cobbled streets and a magnificent baroque church (have a look inside).Everybody is very friendly, in fact it is the friendliest place we have ever found. So many people fall in love with the place and return year after year. It is an ideal resort for singles, couples and families. There is a wide range of shops and other facilities.

Top Tip - If you are going to be in the region for at least 3 weeks in the season it is worth buying a season pass!

Drop in to one of the fantastic mountain restaurants for a warming drink and meal. Our favourites are : -

Rigi - modern and award winning, run by Toni and Erika - self service.

Salven Alm - new in 2005, although you wouldn't believe it - table service.

Gastof Tenne - Just below the top of the gondola with a great sun terrace - table service - also open in the summer.

Look out for it's newly extended annexe (Tenne Stadl ) between the 2 gondolas at the Middle Station.

Due to the new gondola the restaurant at the top of Hohe Salve has been extended making it a great sight seeeing destination without the need to ski off the top on black and hard reds.
